- WhatsApp has just deployed a plethora of new features and functions for cats and calls
- This includes zoom for video calls, scanning and sending documents directly from WhatsApp, and a new way to prioritize group chat notifications
- Among all the new additions, however, there are two that were not well seated with users
The consequences of the last iOS 18.4 update of Apple persist, and we all come to the grip of new features. That said, WhatsApp has also dropped its own big update, announcing new additions to its existing appeal, discussion and canals sections.
Now, I say “big update”, but it is a bit of an understatement because the list of new Whatsapp upgrades is extended, and includes new minor features such as the quality of the more fluid video calls and the transcriptions of voice messages on the channels. However, there are nine remarkable features that we think we are interesting additions to the messaging platform, but two of them rubbed us in the wrong direction.
A plethora of new functions
First of all, despite the small scale of some of the new features, there is a handful that could have a significant impact on your WhatsApp experience, starting with its simple pinch function in video calls.
It took a long time for WhatsApp to catch up with the frontime tastes where users were able to zoom in for a while, but whatever the delay on WhatsApp, this is an advantage that I know frequent users of video calls like me will harvest. In addition to this new call feature, WhatsApp now allows you to add someone to a 1: 1 call in progress from a cat wire.
Aside from calls, WhatsApp has brought even more functions to its cat section. If you are a user of the iPhone that gravitates WhatsApp instead of using its IMEAGE flagship service, there is now a way for you to define WhatsApp as your fault, provided you have installed the latest version of iOS. All you have to do is access your iPhone settings, select the default applications and choose WhatsApp.
It doesn’t stop there. WhatsApp doubles its integration with your daily and personal life, introducing new event updates in 1: 1 cats as well as groups, as well as a new feature that allows you to scan and send documents directly from WhatsApp on iPhone.

The last two useful features that could benefit WhatsApp users include video notes (such as vocal notes) for channels, allowing administrators to record and instantly share videos up to 60 seconds. Finally, you can highlight notifications in groups, offering you an easier way to prioritize your group cat notifications.
Overall, new additions to WhatsApp have a lot of value, even if some may have a slightly less impact than others. But of course, there are two other functions that WhatsApp added who did not sit well with the users – who made a pretty bad impression this week.
If you got out of the loop, WhatsApp has introduced a new Meta AI button in EU regions that you cannot delete from the application user interface – leading to an angry Whatsapp user.
Essentially, a Chatbot AI feature, the new Meta button in WhatsApp is a place where users can go for a number of functions such as answering questions or generating content. But the function itself is not necessarily what users are crazy, and it is more to do with the fact that they did not have the possibility of deleting it.
Discreetly introduced into the recent wave of new WhatsApp functions, there is now a way to see who in your group cats is online, thanks to a new function that shows you real -time status of each member in a group cat. It is obviously less a headache compared to the untouchable meta button, but it means that there is much more pressure to be fast in your answers.
Do not get me wrong, I am a punctual text distributor, but we have all these days when we simply do not have energy to face our group discussions – especially when the creation of plan is horribly bad, or you simply do not want to answer a particular person. This new feature allows your friends and family to call you more easily, and WhatsApp knows exactly what it does.
