Cup at the Masters is already a big problem.
But for Max Homa, it was an even more important affair when he reached weekend after a performance of the second grainy round on Friday.
For Homa, it was his first time that he had been cutting during a tournament since July 19, 2024, when he arrived at the weekend in the open championship.
“The difficult times do not last, hard people do it,” said Homa via PGA Tour after his turn.

“You always try to learn and evolve. I know that I am only even and anything, eight back, but it feels good not to fight here. So, it was good.”
Homa, 34, had a hard time in the first round, pulling a 74 out of 2 out of 74. His second round had gone at the start of a good omen when he dropped the first hole, and he was in danger of missing another cup.
Despite the Bogey on the first hole, Homa completed and did not bogey the rest of the path, ending with a 70 under page 70. He is even peer during the first two days in Augusta National.

It was not always pretty for Homa. He struck only 8 of the 14 (57%) Fairways and had to do a lot of shock to save the peer.
Homa played the weekend this season PGA Tour, but the two events in which he did, The Sentry and At & T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, had no cuts. Homa did not reach the weekend in any tournament with a cup line.

It is the sixth start in Homa career at the Masters and, after a first round 67 last year, he finished equally for third place. Homa will seek to rely on his positive momentum by cutting into another top-10 this year.
Homa joined the PGA Tour in 2014 and won six career victories on Tour. His last victory was 2023 Farmers Insurance Open.
