Islamabad:
On Friday, a court in shorter to Islamabad acquitted Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), Azam Swati, in a case concerning the violation of article 144 during the 2014 Sit-in of the Party, citing the lack of evidence.
The judicial magistrate Mureed Abbas approved the acquittal request of Swati in the case, which was registered to violate article 144 during the demonstrations.
During the hearing, lawyer Sohail Khan read the content of the FIR and argued that there was no evidence in the file connecting his client to any violation.
He asked the court to pay Swati, arguing that there was no legal basis to continue the trial.
