“Due to all circumstances, including inconsistencies between the scene and the results of the autopsy, the cause and the mode of death in this case are better classified as indeterminate”, according to ESPN, which cited the report of the medical examiner of the Broward county.
The report noted that Davis had abrasions near his right eye and a hemorrhage in the muscles of his back. A toxicology report also indicated that the old defensive back had substances in its system, in particular amphetamines or methamphetamines.
The Miami dolphins selected Davis in the first round of the 2009 draft. He was exchanged at the Indianapolis colts before the start of the 2012 season, and he had some big seasons with them.
