The Minister of the Interior, Mohin Naqvi, had talks with the delegation of the United States Congress in Islamabad on Sunday, with cooperation talks against terrorism and the strengthening of bilateral investment links.

The visit delegation included members of the Jack Bergman Congress, Tom Suozzi and Jonathan Jackson. The Minister of State of Pakistan for the interior Talal Chaudry, the acting American ambassador Natalie Baker, and the interior secretary Khurram Agha also attended the meeting.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, discussions covered economic cooperation, trade, investment and security, with a particular emphasis on the fight against terrorism and border security.

During the meeting, Mohin Naqvi described Pakistan as a “wall” between terrorism and the whole world, urging greater international collaboration.

“Terrorism is a global challenge and the international community must urgently cooperate with Pakistan,” said Naqvi.

The Minister of the Interior called for a deeper sharing of information and access to advanced terrorism technology.

Pakistan and the United States are expected to have a dialogue to combat terrorism dedicated in June in the midst of an increase in militant violence in the western border regions of Pakistan with Afghanistan.

Islamabad has long been accused Kabul of hosting activists targeting the Pakistani forces, allegations rejected by the government led by the Taliban to Afghanistan.
