Trump at UFC 314: Dominick Reyes pays tribute to the president after Ko

UFC star Dominick Reyes quickly worked in Nikita Krylov on Saturday evening in a light heavyweight fight at UFC 314 and paid tribute to President Donald Trump.

With about 2:39 to do in the first round, Krylov leaned forward towards Jab Reyes. He leaned too far forward and was caught. Reyes hit him with a left and Krylov folded. He obtained Krylov on the ground with hammer fists twice before the referee came and stopped the fight.

Reyes then ran to Trump, who was sitting with Dana White, Elon Musk and others near the cage, pointed the president and bowed.

It was Reyes’ third consecutive victory. He eliminated Dustin Jacoby last June and then Anthony Smith in December. Before that, he was on a sequence of four defeats with defeats against Jon Jones, Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Nextzka and Ryan Spann. The emotions were at the top after the fight.

“It has null,” said Reyes in the tearful eyes of his sequence of defeats, “but my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, my faith in me and my family, it kept me anchored, it kept me here. I am still there to fight. Everything that happens in your life, guys, continue to fight. I never give up.

Reyes said that during his press conference after the fight, it was a “dream dream fight”.

“I was able to represent America before my president,” said Reyes, via MMA Junkie. “He was rooted for me and then he told me how much I represent the country. Since I was a little child, I have always wanted to meet the president. It is always something that I wanted, and I finally have to do it as anhlete, and it happens like another night, I will remember the rest of my life.”

The president received a noisy ovation when entering the center of Kaseya.

“A little legendary,” said Trump about the roar of the crowd. “It was legendary. It is a great honor to have this kind of ovation, really because he says that we are doing a good job. If we were not doing a good job, we would get the opposite.”
