The Federal Minister for National Health Services and Regulations Syed Mustafa Kamal reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicate Pakistan polio, calling for collective action of all segments of society. Addressing journalists in Karachi on Sunday, the minister announced that the next national anti-political vaccination campaign will begin on April 21.

“Vaccination is the only remedy to get rid of this polio,” said Kamal, urging parents across the country to make sure their children receive the vaccine, said Express News.

He stressed the importance of cooperation of all stakeholders, including communities, health workers and civil society, to make a Pakistan without polio. “Each stakeholder has a role to play in the eradication of polio,” he added.

Pakistan remains one of the few countries in the world where polio is still endemic, despite significant progress in recent years. The government continues to manage targeted training to protect children, especially in high -risk areas.
