Pakistan sends 300 agricultural graduates in China as part of the PM training initiative

The first group of 300 agricultural graduates will leave for China on April 16 as part of an international training program funded by the government aimed at modernizing the agricultural sector in Pakistan on Monday, the Ministry of Food Security and National Research said on Monday.

The initiative, entitled’s initiative of the Prime Minister to strengthen the capacities of 1,000 agricultural graduates in China, seeks to equip young professionals of advanced skills in agricultural technology, biotechnology and sustainable agricultural practices.

“Thanks to the collaboration with the main Chinese universities and research institutes, the program offers specialized training in nine areas of high priority, in particular agricultural mechanization, biotechnology, genomics, precision agriculture, artificial intelligence and high -efficiency irrigation systems,” said the ministry.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Federal Minister of National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain should attend a sending ceremony on April 15 for the starting lot.

The training program, which will extend between three and six months, is entirely funded by the Pakistani government. Graduates have been selected thanks to a merit -based competitive process, with investments aligned with their academic specializations.

According to the ministry, participants should return as “master trainers” who will play a central role in the transfer of modern knowledge and techniques to local agricultural communities, universities and research institutions.

The government had previously announced its intention to send a total of 1,000 agricultural graduates in China in 2025 under this capacity building effort. Managers say that the initiative reflects Islamabad’s commitment to transforming agriculture into a high -tech and sustainable sector that can take up the challenges of food security and stimulate economic growth.
