- The new Sony sound bars get us prices, but no release date
- Sony Theater Bar 6: $ 649 | Sony 6: $ 769
- Continuous a pricing trend above competition
Sony recently unveiled the American prices of its new range of televisions, and the price of its new OLED TV is much higher than competition – and despite the same television that is online with competition in the United Kingdom.
It seems that the same reason is also happening with its new sound bars. We have no prices in the United Kingdom yet, but American prices are quite high according to the Budget Budget Standards in mid-plage.
The New Sony Bravia Theater Bar 6, which is a Dolby Atmos 3.2.1 channel soundbar with upfiring speakers and a separate wireless subwoofer, will cost $ 649. The Sony Bravia Theater System 6 is a 5.1 channel surround system with a sound bar, two rear speakers connected to a wireless box and a subwoofer – and it will cost $ 769.
Do not confuse these two models despite the very similar names – the latter does not include layoff, although it supports the decoding of Dolby Atmos. The two bars of his support DTS: X too.
The new wireless rear speakers of the Sony theater which can be added to sound bars (including the Bravia Theater Bar 6, but also the Sony Theater Bar 8) cost $ 449 for the pair.
There is a lot of power and scale in the sound of these speakers – the theater system 6 is 1000W – but they are not particularly high, and these seem to follow the tendency of Sony of pricing of its televisions and its bars of its its
The Sony Theater Bar 6 is a replacement for the Sony HT-G700, a model that cost $ 599 when launched in 2020. For its replacement to add loove speakers and only costs $ 50 more since inflation has totaled more than 20% since then, the United States means that the price increase is not too serious in a vacuum cleaner.
But the problem here is really how high the American price is high than the price of the United Kingdom. We do not have that yet, but the launch price of the United Kingdom of the HT-G700 was £ 449-which was equivalent to $ 560 at the time, and this price Understood Sales tax. The price of the street in the United Kingdom also tends to drop more regularly on the bars of its Sony.
As I referred above, we see the same kind of story with the Sony Bravia 8 II television, which is the new high-level OLED TV in the company, and is a much higher price in the United States than the United Kingdom.
In the United Kingdom, Bravia 8 II is very slightly higher but fundamentally in accordance with its competitor, the LG G5, at 55 inches – and is cheaper than the G5 to 65 inches. In the United States, however, Bravia 8 II costs $ 600 to $ 1,100 more than the LG G5 or the Samsung S95F, depending on the size.
Are the prices to blame?
There is a question of whether Sony assessed while waiting to need to include tariff costs – but the company has not confirmed this, and there is no real reason to think, apart from the prices that are so offline with the competition.
But as I said above, Sony has a frustrating habit of doing it in the United States, and the prices of sound bars are perfectly integrated into what we have seen from the business in the past.
Are the bars of its its price anyway? I heard them both in action, and the Bravia Theater System 6 (The Surround One) offers a very impressive scale of sound, plus a big party thing (literally) that I think Sonos should fly.
The Theater Bar 6 is also impressive, although in my demo, I fear that it is a little compressed in the mid -range. We will have to wait for a complete criticism to be sure, but with the Samsung HW-Q800D having a street price very close to Bar 6 in the theater, I suspect that the Sony can be disturbed by the best specified Samsung.
I wanted to see Sony going out to swing at aggressive prices for these bars, and really take our list of the best soundbars per storm – the competition is good for everyone. These prices seem a little too high – but we will wait for our criticisms for the final judgment.
