- In addition to making room for more Gemini, Google has updated its photo and videos sharing service
- One of the new features includes the integration of Google Photos in the Gemini application
- While one of the features is always a rumor, we hope it will soon be deployed
It’s a busy and certainly interesting moment for Google at the moment, and it is not only because Gemini slowly takes over. While the company doubles the integration of Gemini into all the services of its services, it takes the time to seriously upgrade other platforms under its large umbrella – Google Photos is one of them.
Like Google Messages has tested useful upgrades, the company has not forgotten its photo sharing and storage software, which has also received its fair share of updates and new features, large and small. Two of them are very recent deployments for Google, and although the third is only a speculation for the moment, we hope to see it materialize in the near future.
Google Photos obtains the integration of gemini on Android
In October 2024, Google Photos deployed “Ask the photos”, a research tool has powered by Gemini that allows you to use questions in natural language to filter your gallery in the photo application. With this new integration, Android users will be able to connect it to Google Photos and find photos inside the Gemini application itself.
According to 9TO5GOOGLE, there are two sides in this new integration, the first allowing you to find images and videos based on the following elements:
- Your faces and relationships recorded on Google Photos
- The location / date A photo / video has been taken
- A description of what is in a photo
- Conversation with the Gemini application
For example, you can use prompts such as “Find My Photos of Alex”, “Show me recent selfies” and “show my photos of my last trip”. The second part allows you to ask questions about the specific details of your photos and videos, such as “What are the 10 best things we saw during our last trip?” – Similar to the ASK Photos function in the Google Photos app.
Dark mode for Google Photos’ web version
Whether you use Google Photos or not, you probably use Dark fashion settings on other platforms – for me, it is always excited when I use YouTube or Tiktok. For a while, Dark Mode was exclusive to the Google Photos Mobile application, but a few weeks ago, Google finally brought it to the web version.
It is a small upgrade for Google Photos, but which will be very popular with users for sure. You can very easily activate the dark mode for Google photos on the web:
- Head to photos.google.com in your web browser
- Click on settings, then access the appearance section
- From there, you can select your choice from different options, including light, darkness or use the default device
Google photos for a big overhaul
Although it is still speculated, it could be an excellent design overhaul and which could make the management of your photo-photo more fluid.
We first spotted this a few weeks ago following a leak shared by Android Authority, which underlined the possible modifications that we could see in the future, one of which is taking the taking of today ” no longer having a checkout, but with what looks like a filter icon instead. In addition, the leak displays a floating search bar instead of the usual photos of photos and search tabs.
