Islamabad:

The High Court of Islamabad (IHC) gave Islamabad and Punjab police on Wednesday to recover four Afghan brothers who have disappeared since January 2024.

Judge Muhammad Asif heard the petition concerning the disappearance of the brothers, who disappeared from the federal capital over a year ago.

High police officials, including the excavations of Islamabad and Lahore, and the RPO of Rawalpindi appeared in court.

During the procedure, judge Asif summoned the mother of missing men, Gul Seema, to the rostrum and spoke with her in Pachto.

He then translated his words for the courtroom, saying: “She came to the High Court since August. If his sons are dead, tell him. “

The judge added: “Those whose relatives are missing die every moment-how long will it continue?”

The DIG Islamabad asked for more time to trace disappeared people, which aroused criticism from the petitioner’s lawyer, who noted that the case had been waiting for eight months without results.

He also asked if FIR had been recorded and if they had applied the four brothers.

The Asif judge also asked why the inspector general of the police (IGP) was not present when he was summoned earlier.

The government lawyer said that the IGP was not available but that other senior officers were present.

He again asked for time to submit a new report.

“There is no need to give the time several times,” said the judge. “We want individuals to be recovered. We give you two weeks – inform us of the results. ”

The court ordered the resumption of the missing brothers during the given period and adjourned the hearing until May 5.
