CTD Sindh arrests suspected of SRA terrorist in Karachi, recovers illegal weapons

The Department of Terrorism (CTD) Sindh led an intelligence operation in the Sachal de Karachi region, arresting an alleged terrorist associate with the separatist group prohibited Sindhudeh Revolutionary Army (SRA), officials confirmed on Tuesday.

According to the spokesman for the CTD, the operation was carried out near the Memon cemetery in the police program Housing Society 33 in the jurisdiction of the Sachal police station.

The suspect, identified as Sajjad Shar alias Babloo, son of Ghulam Abbas, was arrested and illegal firearms have been recovered from his possession.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Sajjad Shar was a close assistant to the SRA Asghar Ali Shah and Noor Ahmed Chandio commanders.

He has already been arrested in affairs related to murder, attempted murder and possession of explosive equipment.

The authorities said that he had acted as an affair, passing the instructions of the management of the SRA to agents, notably Ghumlam Shabbir Mallah and Bashir Shar.

The CTD said the suspect was involved in the recruitment of young people for SRA activities and encouraging them to participate in separatist meetings.

He is also accused of recognizing sensitive locations in Karachi and inside the Sindh, sharing information with his network.

Officials said the suspect provided for an IED attack near a railroad track in Bohar, Hyderabad district, under SRA commanders.

He awaited the delivery of the explosive device at the time of his arrest.

The CTD recorded a case against the accused and launched a complete investigation to collect information on other agents related to SRA.

Other arrests are expected on the basis of the intelligence extracted from the suspect.

The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the continuous efforts of the CTD to dismantle the networks of prohibited separatist outfits operating within the province.
