A fatal boat incident occurred in Alabama during a major league fishing tournament on Wednesday morning.
The incident involved several boats on Lewis Smith Lake during the second day of the Tackle Warehouse Invitational, which fishing in the Major League (MLF) was a “serious navigation accident,” the organization said in a statement.
WBMA reports that three have been confirmed now dead, while three others are injured after the accident of several boats. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency identified one of those who were killed like Joey M. Broom, 58, of Altoona.

The MLF said that the incident also involved Flint Davis, a competitive fisherman from Leesburg, Georgia.
“Out of respect for the people involved and to guarantee the accuracy of all the information, no other details will be published at the moment,” said the MLF in its press release. “MLF works in close collaboration with law enforcement officials and emergency services. Additional updates will be provided because they are confirmed by the appropriate authorities.

Davis also published a statement on his Instagram.
“I want to thank everyone for thoughts and prayers,” he wrote. “I ask you to keep me and all the other people and families affected in your prayers. I will let you know more when I can.”
The fishing tournament, which was to take place on Thursday, was canceled.
Coulman County Ema confirmed that the lake accident occurred around 7 a.m. near Miller Bottom, reported CBS 42. There was no word concerning the number of injuries, or worse, of any other person involved.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is currently investigating the crash.
