Coas attributes national peace, the freedom of sacrifices of the armed forces

The chief of staff of the army (COAS), General Asim Munnir, said Thursday that the peace and freedom which benefit to Pakistan today are the result of the sacrifices made by the armed forces of the country.

The army chief made these remarks during an inauguration ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, according to a press release published by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During the ceremony, General Asim Munnir conferred military honors, including Sitara-I-Imtiaz (soldier) and Tamgha-I-Basalat, on officers and soldiers of the Pakistani army.

The prices were awarded in recognition of exceptional bravery during the distinguished operations and services to the nation. The medals awarded posthumously were received by the families of the martyrs.

A large number of senior military officials and families of the winners attended the event.

Resting tribute to martyrs and veterans, Coas Munir said: “Shuhada (Martyrs) and the Ghazis (warriors) are our sustainable pride. Their honor and reverence are a sacred confidence in each Pakistanis. ”

He recognized the sacrifices of the families of the dead, expressing a deep admiration for their resilience and their courage.

COAS also welcomed the Pakistani army and law enforcement agencies for their continuous efforts in the fight against terrorism, including the elimination of high -value terrorist targets during operations to combat current terrorism.
