- Vantrue updates her mini E1 with a 4K video and a 158 -degree lens
- The ‘Plapix’ technology improves the clarity of crucial details such as license plates
- It is also equipped with GPS and voice control features, as well as the Vantrue application
Vantrue has unveiled the latest version of its compact E1 series of dashboard cams, the E1 Pro, and it is equipped with a functionality which is perfectly logical for an improved license plate recognition.
The latest model, which already includes a more detailed 4K video than the original model, uses Vantrue’s “Plapix” software to improve the clarity of the details that matter most for dashboard images, namely the license plates of the cars that surround you.
Combined with an opening lens f / 1.8 live, a circular polarizer filter (included), a wide angle perspective at 158 degrees and the night vision mode of Vantrue, the Plapix technology of E1 Pro should offer some of the clearest video sequences of the crucial details of day and night.
The icing on the cake is the competitive price of the PRO E1 equipped with GPS; $ 149.99 / £ 129.99 on Amazon, with $ 20 / £ 20 discounts available at the time of writing.
The new budgetary cam on dashboard to be beaten?
Vantrue has been in the Dash Cam game for 10 years now, constantly offering solid products that mark well in our in -depth criticisms, including the original E1. His latest model could consolidate the company’s reputation in this space.
The E1 PRO looks like a solid update of the E1, offering a higher resolution video and a series of improvements, all in a compact and affordable package.
There is a 4K video up to 30 images per second which can be improved using Vantrue Plapix Tech, to make the crucial details lighter. Vantrue describes the release as “an HDR 4K video which is 50% clearer than the standard 4K HDR”.
We also get the latest Sony Starvis 2 sensor used by most of the best dashboard cams, a shiny f / 1.8 opening lens, a broader 158 degree perspective and an apparently decent image quality in low light thanks to the night vision mode. All videos can also be marked with GPS data.
Vantrue includes a circular polarizer filter with the E1 Pro – This is the most effective tool for cutting reflections that could otherwise obscure crucial details, including from your own windshield.
Wi-Fi 5G should activate rapid image downloads and reliable vocal control, while “stamped parking mode” can record 15 seconds before and 30 seconds after movement, although you will need a hard-fil cable kit for this feature.
All this seems very impressive for a dashboard cam currently available for $ 129.99 on Amazon US (applying a voucher of $ 20 at the exit), or £ 109.99 on Amazon UK (applying a voucher of £ 20). The E1 Pro kit with Hardwire is available via this same link, for only a little more.
We are currently reviewing the E1 Pro and soon share our verdict, but on the basis of its specifications, you will find it difficult to find a better dashboard cam for money. Our in -depth tests reveal whether the E1 Pro offers real use of the world.
