The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) plans on Thursday that strong precipitation, strong wind storms, isolated hailstones and hailstorms are expected on Friday (today) and Saturday evening in various parts of the country, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
These serious weather conditions could disrupt infrastructure, transport and agricultural activities, said a meteorological opinion issued by the National Ergency Operation Center (NEOC) of the NDMA.
The Neoc has published the opinion of the Potohar region, notably Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the superior Punjab, Aattock, Chakwal, Gujrat and Jhelum – and the center of Punjab – Faithbad, Hafizabad, Jhang, Khushab, Mianwali, Lahore, Narowal, Shiwal, Sargodha, Sheikhup.
Depending on the notice, strong winds and strong precipitation can uproot the trees, potentially causing temporary power outages. Wind storms, dust storms and hailstorms could damage vulnerable structures, roofs, vehicles and power lines.
He said that hailstorms constitute a threat to cultures and external installations, especially those with glass surfaces. Reduced visibility due to rain and dust may increase the risk of road accidents. Residents are invited to take precautions, guarantee bulk objects and avoid unnecessary trips in violent weather.
The NDMA urged residents to remain informed by downloading the official application of Mobile Pak NDMA Disaster Alert for real -time updates.
A directive indicates that all citizens, especially tourists and residents in affected areas, should monitor the weather conditions closely only through official channels. It is strongly advised by travelers to check the road conditions before departure and to postpone non -essential trips during periods of intense weather activity.
