If the preliminary and unofficial results of the elections in Bye are correct, the arrow of the Pakistan peoples party seems to have driven out the peacock, a symbol on which the Malhi of Tehreek-e-Inf Disposts as an independent candidate on NA-213.
A unique electoral battle took place Thursday in the constituency between Saba Talpur and Malhi of the PPP, which was also supported by the Grand Democratic Alliance, the nationalist parties, Jamiat Ulema-Elam-Fazl and many other small political entities.
However, the initial and unconfirmed results of 498 polling stations placed the independent candidate dragging far behind Talpur with a gap of around 74,000 votes. Talpur was recommended to some 148,965 votes to the 74,515 votes from Malhi.
The NA-213 became vacant after the disappearance of the Nawab Yousuf Talpur of the PPP, husband of Saba Talpur, on February 19. MNA was elected from this region for six mandates from 1993 to 2024 in addition to winning the headquarters of a provincial assembly in 1977.
Malhi, at a press conference held immediately after the voting process, announced a shore on Umerkot for Friday in reaction to what he claimed to be a rigged electoral process. He demanded that the result of the election should be retained until a free and equitable investigation of the way in which the alleged flagrant rig was carried out can be carried out.
“Strength, false votes, government machines, partisan survey staff and violence were used to obtain votes,” he said.
Interestingly, the PPP also accused the Malhi of the PTI for rigging and violence. MPA Nawab Taimur Talpur, the candidate’s son, allegedly alleged that PPP workers had been assaulted and injured in the Numer 261 polling station in Jamal Makhrani by PTI workers.
“Our brothers from the Hindu Oad community have been attacked.” He also produced workers injured in front of the media. “The PTI had felt the defeat and its workers then resorted to violence.” He said he would take care that the police have brought the culprits to the book.
The supporters of the two parties also engaged in a fight at PS Shehwani Mohalla, but the police later managed to disperse them. An animated argument and an exchange of warm words between the two parties also occurred in another PS in Bustan, but the police action in a timely manner prevented the situation from vanishing.
The independent candidate during his visit to PS Ibrahim Rind complained that the president of the UC of the PPP, Ameer Hussain Khaskheli, influenced the polishing process.
On his complaint, the police made him leave the PS, but only after Malhi and Khaskheli exchanged hot words. The voting process has been temporarily suspended from PS Qazi Sultan Higher Secondary School.
In the evening, thousands of supporters of PTI, GDA and other parties organized a demonstration in Umerkot, calling for an impartial survey on the survey process.
Up to 608,997 people were registered to vote in the constituency in which some 18 candidates challenged for the siege, but the real confrontation occurred between two of them. Some 1,816 polling stations were installed in 498 polling stations. The Pakistan Electoral Commission had declared 91 PS as very sensitive and 269 sensitive. More than 4,200 police officers were deployed in addition to the Rangers staff.
