To say that the last episode of Yellow Jackets Season 3 was a killer would be an understatement: it was a very dramatic end, often surprising and very violent not only of the season, but also of some of the key characters.
Warning: serious spoilers to come!
If you have not already seen the third season of one of the best Paramount +programs, please do not read, because there were important things in the final of the season I mean, and to explain them, I will have to include massive spoilers.
Believe me: spoil one of the surprises for you is definitely not What the desert wants.
Misty’s smile was a bad direction
One of the most disturbing parts of Yellow Jackets“The very first episode was what happened immediately after the horrible death of Pit Girl, which, of course, we now know how to be a husband.
There is a persistent moment in the pilot where, post-tankalism, the camera focuses on Misty and it does not seem upset; She seems happy, with what you might describe as a sly smile or a smile.
It turns out that it was a bad direction: we were set up to think that Misty was heartless or even bad, and in successive seasons which was reinforced by the animosity between her and husband. But we now know that Shauna, not Misty, was the person who assured that husband would be Pit Girl.
Seeing Misty’s smile in context at the end of season 3 showed us the real story: Misty smiled because she knew she and Nat’s plan – flee to make this telephone call on the repaired satellite phone – had worked.
Shauna’s crown is hollow
In the last moments, we see Shauna becoming the Queen of Woods, which you have of course seen. But this coronation is again a bad orientation, because it is already a hollow victory: the yellow trucks turn against Shauna within two deadlines because of her shocking actions.
Of course, we know that she returns home in the calendar of the 1990s, because if she did not do so, we would not have the current Shauna to be horrified.
But with Misty and even Tai now aligned against her, I really don’t expect a happy ending to the story of Shauna. Especially because …
Callie is a killer
Among the many revelations of the final, one of the largest is the identity of the Lottie – Callie killer. When Misty does all of this, she is not slow to tell Jeff and Shauna. Jeff realizes that Shauna is, to put it slightly, not the biggest Callie model could have, and to hope.
But something strange has happened in the final when Shauna finds empty cupboards and no sign of note: nothing.
After an entire season when Callie and Jeff’s characters have become really important, their story just stops. We are not wiser where they are or what they do than Shauna.
I think it’s a third piece of bad direction. I think we will see a lot more Callie in the four season – and that it will not be good news for Shauna.
Remember, this is a show on teenagers who murdered people, and the last words of husband in Shauna were “you deserve all the bad things that will happen to you” … Do you think what I think?
