Punjab Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the largest initiative for Pakistan assistance systems on Thursday for disabled people, aimed at empowering thousands of people in the province thanks to improved mobility and access to essential support equipment.
More than 300 disabled people attended the launch ceremony in Lahore, where emotional scenes have stressed the impact of the program. In a poignant moment, the chief minister personally escorted a young man, Aqeel, who had lost his arm in an accident, against the scene.

The chief minister also described the accessibility efforts of his administration, noting that all public facilities have been invited to install wheelchair ramps. She urged people with disabilities to register on the government’s social protection portal for home delivery of mobility aid and other assistance devices.
