A new bipartite survey of the California Public Policy Institute revealed that the majority of California residents oppose Trans Trans athletes in female sports.
This figure included more than 70% of the parents of the state school.
“Most Californians argue forced transgender athletes to compete in the teams corresponding to the sex attributed to them at birth,” said the survey.
“The solid majority of adults (65%) and probable voters (64%) argue that transgender athletes compete on teams that correspond to the sexual relations allocated to them, and not on the sex with which they identify. An overwhelming majority of public schools (71%) support such a requirement.”
California Governor Gavin Newsom admitted that the trans athletes participating in female sports are “deeply unfair” during an episode of his podcast last month, but defended allowing him to get out of empathy for the transgender population.
The state was one of the first to challenge President Donald Trump’s executive decree “Keeping Men of Women’s Sports” when he signed it on February 5.
The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) said it would continue to follow the law of the state which allows athletes to participate as the sex they identify, a spokesman for PK Press Club Digital said.
“The CIF offers students the possibility of belonging, connecting and competing in experience -based experiences in accordance with the law of California [Education Code section 221.5. (f)] This allows students to participate in school programs and activities, including sports teams and competitions, in accordance with the student’s identity of the student, whatever the genre listed on student files, “said a CIF press release.

A law, AB 1266, has been in force since 2014 and has given California students at school levels and college levels to “participate in programs and school activities separated by sex, including teams and sports competitions, and to use installations consistent with its gender identity, whatever the sex listed on the pupil files.”
The Californian regulatory code article 4910 (K) defines sex as “the real sex of a person or the sex perceived and includes the identity, appearance or the perceived behavior of a person, that this identity, this appearance or a person’s behavior are traditionally associated with the sex of a person at birth”.
On April 1, the State Assembly and its democratic majority canceled two bills which would have modified the laws to allow students-athletes to compete according to their biological sex.
The United States Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, was warned of Newsom to comply with Trump’s order which prohibits transgender athletes from participating in female sports. The warning and the investigation arise after California was made the country’s first “sanctuary” state for transgender minors and has embarked on a multi -year battle with school districts on their notification policies.

“Authorize participation in activities separated by sex based on” gender identity “places schools at risk of violations of title IX and loss of federal funding. As governor, you have a duty to inform California school districts From this risk, “wrote McMahon in the letter.
“As an education secretary, I officially ask you to inform this department if you remind California schools to comply with federal law by protecting spaces and activities separated by sex. I also officially ask you to publicly ensure parents that California teachers will not facilitate the fantasy of” gender transitions “for their children.”
