- After a delay, Nintendo confirmed the kick-off of SWITCH 2 pre-orders on April 24 in the United States
- The Switch 2 will always start at $ 449.99, which means no price increase
- Some accessories for Switch 2 will cost more
Finally, we have good news for those in the United States who were looking forward to information on the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 here. Only a few days before pre -orders had to start on April 9, 2025, the game giant delayed them due to new prices imposed by President Donald Trump.
This long wait is over, however, as Nintendo has just announced This SWITCH 2 pre -order will start in the United States on April 24, 2025. In even better news, the price remains the same – $ 449.99 for the Nintendo Switch 2 and $ 499.99 for the console as well as the new world title of Mario Kart.
In addition, Mario Kart World will always cost $ 69.99, and Donkey Kong Banaza Stay at $ 59.99 in physical and virtual editions. So yes, no price increases for the Switch 2, the console plus a game, the main launch title of Nintendo and a new entry into a classic title.
This is where the good news ends. As we have seen with other electronic devices since the Trump administration’s prices start, everything is not without price increase.
Nintendo writes: “The Nintendo Switch 2 accessories will undergo price adjustments from those announced on April 2 due to changes under market conditions.” Here’s what it looks like for the Joy-Con 2, the professional controller and the Switch camera:
- Joy-Con 2 controllers cost $ 94.99, compared to $ 89.99
- The pro controller now costs $ 84.99 out of $ 79.99
- The Switch camera is $ 54.99 out of $ 49.99
Now, an increase of $ 5 is not as dramatic as that that Nintendo could have thought of doing everything by monitoring the economic situation.
However, an increase is an increase, and Nintendo notes that more of this could happen in the future: “Other adjustments at the cost of any Nintendo product are also possible in the future depending on market conditions.”
These are, of course, all of Nintendo’s suggested prices. If the Switch 2 turns out to be a difficult pre -order, we could see the prices of third -party resellers. This is common for major console launches, including the PS5, the Xbox X series and even the Nintendo Wii.
Even with increases, it is nice to know that the United States will have a pre-order window, and it starts in just six days. The Switch 2 console, its many accessories, and Mario Kart World, among dozens of other titles, will then be officially launched on June 5, 2025.
We expect to hear retailers like Best Buy, Walmart and Gamestop, among others, to share pre -order plans on April 24, 2025. Techradar contacted them to comment, and we will update this story when we hear.
If you hope to pre -order directly in Nintendo, you can record your interest, but the first batch of invitations for pre -orders from the My Nintendo store will be held on May 8, 2025. You will need a Switch Online subscription alongside other requirements to pre -order this way.
Either the route, stay with us while we have to launch the Switch 2 and pre-orders in the United States.
