Shohei Ohtani is about to be a dad.
The bidirectional superstar of Los Angeles Dodgers is far from the team for the birth of the first child of the double -meaning superstar on Friday.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani was with his wife and made the MLB paternity list, before the opening of the Dodgers series on Friday evening against the Texas Rangers.
“He and Mamiko are waiting at some point. That’s all I know,” said Roberts. “I don’t know when he’s going to come back and I don’t know when they’re going to have the baby, but obviously, they are together in anticipation.”

Ohtani, 30, posted on his Instagram Accounting at the end of December as he and his 28 -year -old wife, a former professional basketball player from his native Japan, awaited a baby in 2025.
“I can’t wait for the little recruit to join our family soon!” said the message on December 28 which included a photo showing the beloved dog of the couple, the lure, as well as a pink ruffle coco cache with baby shoes and an ultrasound covered by a baby emoji.

Ohtani can miss up to three games on paternity leave. The Dodgers have a series of three games in Texas before a day off on Monday, then play Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.
