- AndorThe main actor opened the end of the Star Wars television show after two seasons
- Diego Luna is relieved that the Snape One series is not canceled
- He was originally supposed to run for five seasons
Diego Luna thinks that this is the right decision on the part of Disney to allow Andor Complete after two seasons rather than.
Discuss with Techradar before Andor Season 2 makes her Disney +debut, Luna expressed her satisfaction and relief on the opportunity to tell “the story we wanted” in the Snape One Prequel series. Indeed, Luna was happy that Disney offered him, the showrunner Tony Gilroy, and the rest of the distribution and the crew the chance to conclude her story, rather than canceling the show after a single season.
Luna’s concerns about the Star Wars television series before her time are not unfounded. Despite the praise of criticism and appointments AndorThe first season was met, it is no secret to anyone that its development was an expensive business.
Initially, Andor was to take place for five seasons, with his last payment leading directly to the events of Snape OneHowever, according to a report published by Forbes last December, it is estimated that the price for the creation of its first two seasons was 645 million astronomical dollars.
With Disney reducing costs to all levels during the second pass of Bob Iger as CEO, AndorThe five -season plan was never going to materialize.
Fortunately, during the development on one of the first best season of Disney +, Gilroy had a “good idea”, according to Luna, to condense the value of the arcs of Four Seasons characters and a wider narration in one more season including 12 episodes.
It is a format that Gilroy discussed with me before the release of season 1 in August 2022, with the chief writer of the series calling them “very sexy” time jumps which would represent a unique but important event in each of the four years preceding the start of Snape One. Each period of 12 months will extend over three episodes each, allowing each story the same time and space to represent their individual stories.

“From the start [of this show]We knew what we wanted to do, “Luna told me.” Structurally, the plan changed because we quickly realized that we could not engage in five seasons. It takes a lot of energy, time and money to make one, because each season takes two and a half years in our life.
“But, while we were turning the first season, Tony had this excellent idea of tightening four seasons in one and making four chapters.
“I also think that today, in long format narration and television in general, many shows start without knowing where or when they will end. But, from start to finish, we told the story we wanted to tell and it is a beautiful thing to do.”
