Gather yourself, because we have technological tales to tell: PK Press Club stories of the last seven days, covering new trailers of movies, new instant cameras, new open headphones, problems for Spotify and Samsung, and more advances in artificial intelligence.
We await the rhythm of technological news through gadgets, AI and software to slow down, but that has certainly not happened this week. In fact, it seems that there is more news than ever, and we aim to cover as many most important as possible announcements.
This complete in case you have missed it, you will take it at speed with everything that happened in Tech News in last week, giving you just enough time to take a moment before leaving for seven days of news and rumors.
8. 28 years later, we terrified in a new trailer
With the original Danny Boyle and Alex Garland director commentary on the first film making a return for this third episode, our hopes were already raised for 28 years later – And the levels of anticipation increased one further after another drop in trailer.
The 191 seconds clip manages to give us just enough look at the film to sharpen our appetites without giving too much. It certainly seems that there will be enough fear of jump and zombie gore to make the next film a treat for horror fans.
7. We had our first overview of the imminent OnePlus 13T
The next launch of the OnePlus phone is almost on our doors, the OnePlus 13T officially arriving on April 24. We can throw a good overview of the handset before that, because OnePlus has published a short video showing the phone in three different colors.
We can see a flat back, winding corners and a new button that replaces the standard OnePlus alert cursor on this handset. We have also confirmed that the phone will wear a 6.32 inch screen and a 6,000 mAh battery.
6. Samsung’s One Ui 7 Loout struck serious clashes
Obtaining a user interface 7 in the masses turned out to be the challenge for Samsung, and just when we thought that the owners of the Galaxy S24, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 phones would get the update, the deployment was paused in the middle of the reports of a serious bug.
This probably means that the owners of older phones, including the Samsung Galaxy S23, will have to wait even longer to get their UI 7 upgrade. With Android 16 (and therefore a user interface 8) just at the corner of the street, it is not a good look if you are Samsung.
5. Music has died in the largest spotify breakdown in years
We found ourselves rushing for our CD bridges and our radio dials on Wednesday – or perhaps simply YouTube – because Spotify underwent one of the most serious breakdowns in history. Non -reactive application reports came worldwide for most of the day.
We still don’t know exactly what has happened to trigger such a major problem on Spotify servers. Perhaps the musical streaming service is too embarrassed to tell us, but society specifically said that it was not a cyber attack causing important problems.
4. Sennheiser gave us open -type earphones
Say hello to the open to Sennheiser Accentum open, a pair of airpods open headphones which do not cost much at all: in Europe, they are listed at € 89.90, which should operate at £ 100 £ 78 / $ 161 at when these attractive stage turns go for sale elsewhere.
In addition to being affordable, they seem light and promise 28 hours of battery life between the charges (if you include the case). We have not yet had the chance to test them, but we hope they respect the usual high fidelity standards of the audio equipment of Sennheiser.
3. The Polaroid Flip brought us back in the 90s
The Polaroid Flip is the latest analog instant camera on the market, and it could also be the best – take a look at some of the shots that we have managed to capture with the device, and make your own mind about this $ 199.99 / 199.99 £ 199.9 camera (the price of Australia is TBC).
It’s quick and fun to use, and it’s backward when the photos were not stuck inside your smartphone forever: these photos make you feel something. Our full exam by Polaroid Flip will give you the full report of this camera and what it has to offer.
2. Two of the best fitness applications in the world have teamed up
Strava, meet Runna. These are both fantastic applications for monitoring races and other activities, and now they have united their strengths: Strava has announced that it was bought Runna, although nothing changes in terms of operation of the two applications for the moment.
The objective is to “create an even greater value for our users”, according to the CEO of Strava, Michael Martin, and we can expect to see some of the personalized training plans fueled by AI that Runna also specializes in users on Strava, in due time.
1. Chatgpt obtained serious upgrades (still)
OPENAI has been consistent to regularly postpone upgrades for chatgpt users, and the latest update provides new O3 and O4-minini models on all user plans. These models are smarter, faster and better work with different modes (including text and images).
In fact, these models are a nod to the possible arrival of the large GPT-5 upgrade, which is in the pipeline, and will be able to do much more. In the meantime, chatgpt images have also received their own dedicated library section.
