Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underlined the need for agricultural self -sufficiency on Sunday, calling for the modernization of the sector through the combined efforts of qualified professionals and the commitment of young people.

Chairing a high -level consultative meeting in Islamabad, the Prime Minister said that the fertile land of Pakistan, experienced agricultural experts and workers’ farmers provide a solid basis for sectoral reform.

He stressed that the contribution of stakeholders will be integrated into a coordinated strategy to improve productivity and sustainability.

Shehbaz stressed the importance of promoting Cottage Agro-Agro industries, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and appropriate storage infrastructure to strengthen rural savings.

He noted the current lack of storage of off -season crops and value -added value factories, suggesting that their development could stimulate entrepreneurship among young rural people and stimulate exports.

Reunion participants identified key reform areas, including the adoption of digital tools and artificial intelligence.

The proposals included the expansion of access to smartphones and the Internet in rural areas, creating a centralized farmers’ database and deployment of blockchain and QR code systems to improve the delivery of agricultural entries.

The discussion has also covered the improvement of soil fertility, the promotion of crops rich in nutrients thanks to scientific methods and the launch of training initiatives via public-private partnerships.

The meeting ended with a shared commitment to initiating young people, to prioritize research and development and to move towards national autonomy in agriculture thanks to collaborative action.

PM invites sympathetic countries to invest in Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited sympathetic countries to invest in Pakistan mines and minerals, information and agriculture technology sectors.

Addressing health, engineering and minerals, in Lahore, he ensured to extend full facilitation to investors. He stressed that these sectors offer views of profitable investment opportunities.

By referring to the reduction of inflation and policy rates as well as electricity prices, the Prime Minister said that this had created an environment conducive to investment in Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan is walking towards growth and prosperity. He said that our country has a young population and that they have equipped themselves with modern techniques and vocational training.

He said that Allah Almighty had granted the very precious natural resources of Pakistan, stressing the need for joint ventures in the fields of mines and minerals.
