- The Lenovo Gen 6 thinkpad P14S supports up to 96 GB of RAM DDR5, but only with Krackan Point processor models
- Rapid Charge offers 80% power in 60 minutes using a USB-C 65W adapter
- However, its battery can fight under heavy performance loads
Lenovo has announced his most powerful AMD laptop to date: the ThinkPad P14S Gen 6, which should be launched with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 370 of 12 cores, which makes it the first model powered by the company to break the eight core ceiling.
Intended for creative professionals and mobile users who need both AI and basic performance treatment, the ThinkPad P14S Gen 6 supports up to 96 GB of RAM DDR5-5600 – but only in configurations using Krackan Point CPUs, namely the Ryzen AI 5 Pro 340 and Ryzen AI 7 Pro 350.
This means that the Stix point model to 12 cores can be capped at 64 GB of welded memory. Although this is a limitation, it always offers enough to demand workloads such as 3D or Photoshop rendering, making it a solid candidate for users looking for the best laptop for photo publishing.
Bad battery choice
Although the processing capacity can place it among the best pretenders to work stations in terms of raw energy, there is a drawback: the model of the model may have trouble matching the chip.
Weighing 1.39 kg (3.06 lb) and measuring 10.9 to 16.3 mm thick, the device uses a 57Whr or 52.5Whr battery, according to the CPU.
Although the two batteries are larger than the Weedy 39.3Whr battery on the previous ThinkPad P14S Gen 5, they can always fight under the new more powerful processors. However, the laptop supports the fast load with a 65W adapter, capable of reaching a battery of 80% in 60 minutes.
This light mobile workstation, currently listed on the Lenovo Malaysia website, has a 2.8K 14-inch OLED panel with 100% DCI-P3 coverage and an anti-Glare coating.
It includes Tüv certifications for Eyesfe and Low Blue Light, a tactile screen, integrated PrivacyGuard, and will be available in different IPS variants offering up to 500 NICs.
The graphics are managed by an integrated AMD Radeon 890m, built on the RDNA 3.5 architecture, offering up to 32 above and supported by the AMD PRO graphics pilot.
For connectivity, the device offers WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, 5G or CAT16 optional with ESIM and Optional NFC.
Physical ports include two USB-C (Thunderbolt 4) ports, two USB-A ports (5 Gbit / G
The price and availability remain vague, because the list simply indicates “available soon”. Since the T14 Gen 6 AMD models are unlikely to be shipped before May or June 2025, the P14S variant will probably not emerge from the shelves before summer.
