Illinois has become the last blue condition to ensure that transgender athletes can play sports for girls. State republicans are actively trying to change this.
The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) has announced that it will not comply with the executive decree of President Donald Trump to keep the athletes trans outside the sports of girls and women.
In a public letter to the legislators of the GOP of the State, the IHSA declared that the Attorney General of Illinois Kwame Raoul and the Human Rights Department of Illinois have declared that the law of the State requires that transgender athletes be authorized to participate according to gender identity.

The Illinois uses a game book similar to that used by Maine in its current quarrel with the Trump administration on the issue, citing law law laws as an obstacle to the prohibition of biological men of sports for girls.
“Following the above, respect for the decree could place the IHSA from compliance with the Human Rights Act of Illinois and Vice Versa,” wrote the chairman of the board of directors of the IHSA, Dan Tully, in the letter.
Tully added that the IHSA is in “an untenable position” while the organization seeks clarity on the contradictory directions of the Trump State and Administration Authorities.
“There is an increasing story that seeks to politicize the response of the IHSA. However, as it clearly explains in the copy of the letter provided below, the IHSA seeks clarity on the contradictory state and federal law so that we can remain in compliance,” said a statement from the IHSA.
Illinois GOP legislators sent their own letter to the IHSA in March to ask him what the body will do to change politics after Trump’s decree has adopted. Transgender athletes have been allowed to participate in girls in Illinois since 2011.

In response to the recent IHSA announcement, several leading GOP legislators have spoken in opposition to the rule.
Representative Blaine Wilhour, who directed the initiative to send the first letter to the IHSA on the issue, told PK Press Club Digital that he called on the school districts of Illinois and school boards to adopt local resolutions prohibiting the Trans athletes of Girls Sports.
“I think that each school district must clearly indicate that we protect the sacred nature of the sports of girls, and we believe in the local control of these decisions,” said Wilhour. “I would demand that all your local districts take this position and do it. Because when the push comes to push, we gain on these questions, but we just need people to be daring and go out there and do the right thing.”
Wilhour condemned Governor JB Pritzker and the Democratic Majority to the State’s legislature for state laws which allow trans inclusion in girls sports. Wilhour added that he called on the Trump administration to intervene and potentially reduce funding in response.
“The whole policy is sick. Either you believe in fair competition, or you don’t do it. The Democratic Party today, and in particular JB Pritzker, does not believe in fair competition. They have put their awakened ideology on the protection of girls in sport,” said Wilhour.

“”[The Trump administration is] I will have to get involved here, and the lever effect they have is federal funding. Each year we take millions of federal government funds. And we do not really savor the situation where it would be selected. … But I will try my luck to do the right thing. … Prohibiting boys from participating in girls sports is the right thing to do, so we have to do difficult things to get there. “”
Wilhour has also encouraged the IHSA to cancel the management of the government of the state and to prohibit the trans athletes of girls in girls anyway.
Maine has already seen the type of intervention that Wilhour demands, both internally and at the federal level.
The Maine School District 70 has moved to ban the Trans athletes of Girls Sports and complies with Trump, defying the law of the state, earlier this week.
Maine has also already seen its federal funding reduced by the American Department of Agriculture, and the Ministry of Justice has launched legal action against the State for its continuous challenge of the order of Trump.
A federal investigation into the title IX is already underway in Illinois after a mother of Deerfield allegedly alleged that his daughter had been forced to change before a trans student.
Deerfield Public Schools District 109 faces a survey by the United States The Ministry of Education Office of civil rights after the mother of Illinois, Nicole Georgas, shed light on the situation.
She filed a complaint in civil rights to the American Department of Justice After alleging that school administrators tried to force her 13 -year -old daughter to change in front of a transgender student in the girl’s locker room last month.
She revealed the complaint at a meeting of the board of directors to Deerfield 109 public school district Last week, saying that the incident occurred last month after his daughter refused to turn into uniform during physical education because a biological student was present.
Deerfield Public Schools District 109 responded to the investigation in a statement to PK Press Club Digital and, like the IHSA, cited Illinois Human Rights Act for its protocols.
“Deerfield Public Schools District 109 is in accordance with the law of the State. The Human Rights Act in Illinois prohibits all public school districts from discriminating on the basis of sexual relations, including gender identity, and obliges that students must be authorized to access the changing rooms and toilets that align with their gender identity,” said the press release.
The district also called on families to express their concerns about certain policies.
“The district and the board of directors are united to our leaders and educators on this issue and have a common commitment to respect the law,” added the press release.
“The district and the board of directors call upon all those who express concerns or perspectives on this issue with our staff and our educators to do so in a respectful and civil manner. We are happy to work with families to respond to any individual concern and determine the next appropriate steps to support the well-being and participation of your child.”
