Lahore:
A Christian accused of blasphemy in Jaranwala will appeal to a death penalty pronounced by an anti-terrorism court, said his lawyer on Saturday.
The 36 -year -old man was found guilty of blasphemy for allegations he had profaned from the Holy Quran, which fueled the attacks on a Christian district in 2023 in which hundreds of houses and churches were burned and thousands of people forced to flee their homes.
“We are going to appeal to the high court against this,” his lawyer Akmal Bhatti told Reuters, referring to the verdict rendered on Friday evening.
