On Sunday, the Minister of the Interior Mohin Naqvi announced Sunday that Saudi citizens can now enter Pakistan without restrictions, as part of measures aimed at strengthening bilateral links between the two countries.
The announcement follows a meeting between Mohin Naqvi and the Saudi ambassador Nawaf Bin Saeed Ahmad al-Malkiy in the diplomatic enclave of Islamabad. The two officials have held detailed discussions covering diplomatic relations, travel policies and cooperation in the application of the law.
Mohin Naqvi expressed his appreciation for the constant support of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan, recognizing in particular the participation of the kingdom in the recent anti-narcotic conference co-organized by Pakistan and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
During the meeting, Naqvi shared updates on recent reforms related to passport and national documentation standards. He said new protocols aimed to improve documents safety and prevent improper use.
The Minister of the Interior has also informed the government’s effort ambassador to combat crime at the street level, including a repression of professional beggar networks across the country.
Naqvi congratulated the Saudi authorities for their cooperation in the guarantee of five Pakistani nationals who had been imprisoned in a drug smuggling case later deemed false. He described the release following a strong bilateral coordination and support.
Ambassador al-Malkiy reiterated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to improve cooperation with Pakistan in several sectors. He underlined the long-standing nature of Saudi-Pakistani relations and the intention of the kingdom to further deepen strategic and economic links.
The meeting ended with the two parties initiating continuous collaboration and efforts to strengthen mutual interests.
