The member of the Kashmir Council, Younas Mir, praised the recent declaration made by the chief of staff of the army, General Syed Asim Munir concerning the question of cashmere during the convention abroad which was held in Islamabad.

In his declaration, Younas Mir said that the reaffirmation by the army of the army of the unshakable support of Pakistan for the Kashmir people is a source of strength and insurance for the Kashmiris in the country and abroad. “His words reflect the deeply rooted commitment of our institutions to the just cause of cashmere and the right to self -determination as consecrated in United Nations resolutions,” said Mir.

He stressed that the message of the army chief had not only resonated with the diaspora community, but also sent a clear signal to the international community on the position of the principles of Pakistan on Jammu-et-Cachemire.

Mir appreciated the leadership of the Pakistani army for having constantly underlined the fate of the cashmere people under occupation and for their efforts to maintain the problem alive on diplomatic forums.

“We are grateful to leadership that continues to echo the voice of the Kashmiris. The Pakistanis abroad united with our brothers and sisters in cashmere and will continue to raise their voice on a global scale,” added Mir.

Meanwhile, Mir has concluded an important diplomatic commitment to Oman with eminent Pakistani community leaders Shaikh Syed Fayaz Ali Shah and Mian Riaz and held high -level meetings with the Pakistan ambassador to Oman and the Governor of Muscat.

During his visit, Mir met Imran Ali, Pakistan ambassador to Oman and discussed questions concerning the Pakistani diaspora, in particular the Cashmere community in the Gulf region.

The two parties recognized the precious contributions of the Pakistani abroad to national development and explored the avenues for a greater community commitment and support.

Mir also had the honor to meet the governor of Muscat Sheikh Saif Bin Hameer Al Shukaili. The two leaders exchanged points of view on strengthening people’s relationships to the person, improving cultural ties and promoting mutual cooperation between cashmere and Oman in areas of common interest.

MIR also addressed a rally of community leaders and eminent members of the Pakistani diaspora and cashmere in Muscat, appreciating their continuous efforts to promote the image of Pakistan abroad and reaffirm the importance of unity among the Pakistanis abroad.
