Poliovirus samples detected in all Karachi districts, explains the Minister of Health

Karachi: Federal Minister of Health Mustafa Kamal revealed a fairly alarming detail on anti-political efforts on Monday and revealed that environmental samples have detected the presence of poliovirus in all Karachi districts.

Speaking on PK Press Club News“PK Press Club Pakistan program, Kamal underlined the urgent need for action, noting that during the previous anti -political campaign, more than 44,000 parents refused to have their children vaccinated – 34,000 of whom came from Karachi, with the majority of the East district.

Kamal said that this time, efforts were made to convince the hesitant parents of the importance of the vaccine. He also said that UNICEF was responsible for buying the polio vaccine for the country.

The Minister of Health’s remarks one day comes after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched a seven-day national anti-poolio campaign aimed at inoculating millions of children under the age of five.

Providing a regional perspective, Kamal added that anti-political campaigns are underway through Afghanistan, except in Kandahar.

Meanwhile, the Sindh-chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, today (Monda) officially launched a seven-day anti-poolio campaign in Karachi, which will take place from April 21 to 27.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Sindh government to eradicate the disease and stressed that the protection of polio children was a national collective responsibility.

Providing details on the vaccination campaign, CM Shah said that more than 10 million children across the Sindh, including more than 2.7 million in Karachi, will be administered by polio. He also requested that the availability of the vaccine be ensured in schools, shopping centers and transport points.

Note that despite serious heat, front -line workers continue to exercise their tasks to protect the future of the nation, the CM has advised polio workers to transport water, gold and essential supplies, and confirmed that more than 25,000 police had been deployed to ensure their safety.

The chief minister urged parents to ensure that their children receive the reductions in polio and to extend full cooperation to vaccination teams. He stressed that it is compulsory for each child under the age of five to be vaccinated. “There is no cure for polio-only the vaccine can prevent disability,” he said.

He also stressed that this same vaccine played a major role in eradicating polio in the world and is even administered to those who travel for Hajj and Omra.

“Repeated doses do not hurt, but rather offer stronger protection,” he said, ordering officials to ensure that no child is not vaccinated.
