The bus accident left 16 dead in Jamshoro

At least 16 people lost their lives and several others were injured after their passenger bus plunged into a ravine near the Bola Khan police station in the Jamshoro district in the Sindh province, local police officials.

The unhappy bus was carrying workers from the Bheel community who returned home after completing the wheat harvesting work in Balutchistan, said sub-commissioner Ghazanfar Qadri.

The tragic incident occurred near the Bola Khan police station, which made more than two dozen injured passengers.

Police confirmed that at least twelve bodies had been recovered from the incident site. However, four wounded died of their injuries at the Jamshoro Liaquat University Hospital, which pushed the number of deaths to 16, hospital sources said.

The rescue teams say that five of the injured were taken to the civil hospital in Hyderabad. They said four children were also part of the deceased.

The rescue official also said that one of the injured was in critical condition.

Five of the injured were transferred to Bola Khan Taluka Hospital, DC Qadri said. However, he noted that the hospital did not have the facilities to manage serious cases, describing it as a basic health unit.

The cause of the accident has not yet been officially confirmed, but an investigation is underway.
