Lahore:
The High Court of Lahore canceled the list of causes containing petitions of release under bond after the arrest of the founding president of PTI, Imran Khan, in eight cases linked to the riots of May 9 due to the unavailability of judge Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi.
Judge Rizvi led the division bench hearing the surety. The second member of the bench is the Tariq Saleem Sheikh judge.
It is relevant to mention that the bench of the LHC division had previously adjourned the hearing for the release requests on the surety of Imran Khan until April 23, after the files were not produced in court.
Imran had filed petitions of release under bond after the arrest in eight different cases linked to the riots of May 9 which followed after his arrest.
The former Prime Minister approached the LHC to wonder what he called for illegal and politically motivated cases.
He argued that he had been deliberately involved in these cases “forged and false” despite no involvement.
Attating the attention of the court to the key points, he argued that the accusation had offered divergent positions concerning the date, time and place of alleged complicity and other accusations, making these “more in -depth investigation” cases.
