- It allows users to record their heart rate and check the atrial fibrillation signs
Garmin announced today that its ECG application is now available for customers in Switzerland and the United Kingdom, bearing the total list of territories supported at more than 50.
The Garmin’s ECG application works with all the best Garmin watches, including Fenix 8 and beyond, and allows users to record their heart rate and check the signs of atrial fibrillation.
The application shows you immediate results on your wrist and allows you to synchronize your readings with Garmin Connect, by viewing them on the app for smartphone on a later date. The latter also supports the compilation of ECG results stories that you can share with your health care provider.
Garmin’s ECG is powered by sensors at the back of its smart watches, which record electrical signals to measure the rate of heart rate, and the company says that this is the first SmartWatch Garmin feature to be classified as a medical device in one or the other country.
