Travis Hunter’s father could not attend the Heisman trophy ceremony in December, but he will be able to attend another moment that changes his life for his son.
After having been released from a 90 -day prison sentence only a week before the event, the father of the Héisman trophy winner was limited to home imprisonment for a year during his three -year probation.
Hunter Sr., 39, was imprisoned in drugs and firearms in September after an incident that occurred in 2023. But a Florida court made him a temporary change this week.

Hunter Sr. obtained permission to go to Green Bay for the draft, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Hunter Sr. will be limited to traveling only towards and from the hotel and the project, and must be back home on Friday. He had to submit a travel route to his community control agent, noted the Palm Beach Post.
By winning the Heisman, Hunter was emotional when he talked about his father.

“I mean something to my father. He is not there and could not do it, but I know you watch on television. Dad, I love you. For everything you have made the man … Now look at your eldest son. I did it for you, guy,” he said.
“Whenever you couldn’t see me, or the times you saw my games. Not to see two games in high school to see me on television every weekend and come to see me. It means so much for me. I know you want to be here, and you can’t, but believe me, I have you. I bring you the trophy. I love you.”

Hunter should be the second overall choice Thursday evening at the Browns in Cleveland, just after the probable selection of Cam Ward by Titans du Tennessee.
