- Anker reveals the nebulous 4K projector
- The features include 4K resolution, Dolby Vision HDR support and 3,500 Lumens ANSI
- The X1 is presented as an “outdoor projector”
Anker revealed the latest 4K projector in its Nebula range, the X1.
Anker, manufacturers of some of the best projectors, such as Anker Nebula March 3, says that the X1 is its most efficient projector to date. The X1 follows in the footsteps of the Anker Cosmos range, which has delivered some of the best portable projectors, including the 4K laser of Anker Nebula Cosmos.
Resolution X1 4K uses a triple RVB laser light engine and offers 3,500 Lumens Ansi. It is capable of displaying images up to 300 inches and its Nebulamaster technology should offer a native contrast report of 5000: 1 and a dynamic contrast ratio of 56,000: 1. Anker says that it is the “backyard projector perfect for day and night use”.
The X1 has four internal lateral shooting speakers powered by a total of 40 W, and a pair separated from wireless speakers is an option available. These speakers have 8 hours of autonomy and are rechargeable USB-C.
As an added audio functionality, integrated X1 speakers can be passed into subwoofer mode when combined with wireless speakers, creating a 4.1.2 channel audio system.
From the point of view of the design, the X1 can tilt up to 25 degrees, allowing an easy placement on a wall, a table or a floor. It also has AI space adaptation, which uses an automatic focus in real time, an automatic key key, an automatic optical zoom and an automatic screen adjustment. There is an integrated micro-gimal for additional adaptability, and it comes with a transport handle for easy portability.
The X1 will also support Wi-Fi streaming with integrated Google TV to access the best streaming services such as Netflix, Prime Video and Disney Plus.
Another new feature is its liquid cooling system, which, according to Anker, will limit the noise of the fan to 26 dB (at a distance of 1 m).
The Anker Nebula X1 will be available from May 21, from $ 2 199.99 / £ 2 199.99 (around $ 4,595 to directly converted). An accessory bundle, with the two wireless speakers, a transport case and two wireless microphones designed with a karaoke in mind, is available for $ 999.99 / £ 499.99 ($ 667 / $ 1,042 to directly converted). The two will be on sale on Amazon and Nebula in the United States and Nebula in the United Kingdom.
The ultimate summer projector?
The title of the exit from Anker from the X1 is that it is perfect for the outdoors or the night, its brightness of 3,500 Lumens Ansi putting it in the same category as the tastes of the Samsung first 9 and Epson QB100, both classified as “ super-bright ”.
Although the X1 rings that it will be super brighter, even the brightest and brightest 4K projectors can always have trouble viewing the day outdoors, because the lumens necessary to project a decent image in brighter visualization conditions can be a real challenge.
However, 3,500 Lumens Ansi are indeed very brilliant, and with the additional advantage of Dolby Vision HDR, the X1 could produce images sufficiently brilliant for an external visualization.
Admittedly, this is not a cheap projector, but compared to other portable projectors with similar specifications, such as the Ultra 4K JMGO, it is at a competitive price for what it offers.
With the display specifications listed and the option for an audio upgrade, plus two wireless microphones for anyone who has a little karaoke after their cinema evening, the nebula could really be the cinema package portable and ultimate exterior. I will be eager to get my hands on it and see how it goes.
