- New photos show dummy units of the four iPhone 17 models expected in two different colors
- You can see how the iPhone 17 air could be compared to other models
- Online reactions to conceptions are largely negative
It seems that we get new looks on the probable design of the iPhone 17 series almost every day now, and the latest rumor combustion photos show stupid units of the four models, side by side.
Shared by @SonnyDickson (via GSMARENA), these images claim to show Apple’s to come from the shades in black and white, and in both cases, their rear panels are a single color, rather than the two -color design that the first leaks suggested that the iPhone 17 could have.
This mono-color appearance is more likely to be precise on the basis of recent leaks, but in any case, the large redesigned camera blocks that you can see below will almost certainly make an appearance on finished phones, because all the leaks seem to agree on their inclusion.
And here is the white – even better than the black. pic.twitter.com/b18nh0xbmbaApril 23, 2025
You can also see how thinly the iPhone 17 is in some of these images, it appeared much thinner than the rest of these missed units in the iPhone 17 series.
Of course, as always, it is worth taking these images with a pinch of salt. Although the dummy units can be designed according to the official Apple information, it is possible that it was simply created on the basis of rumors on the design of these phones. However, they correspond to many previous leaks, so we expect them to be somewhat precise.
Make a bad impression
In this case, it will be interesting to see how popular the iPhone 17 series – or not – is at its launch later this year, because the reactions to these images are at best mixed. On Reddit, these conceptions were described as a “monstrosity”, “so bad” and “if ugly”, among others.
Not all comments are so negative, but there seem to be few really positive reactions.
It is likely, however, that perceptions change. On the one hand, even if these fictitious units are largely precise, finished phones will almost certainly look more polite. And for another, people will probably get used to the changes over time – just as they got used to the notch when it was introduced on the iPhone X in 2017 and to the rod on Airpod.
So, in a year, most people will probably be used to this new iPhone look, and the next time Apple will give the iPhone, we will probably hear people would like it to stay like that.
