In the wake of the recent attack by Pahalgam, which led to the death of 26 men in an illegally occupied Indian in Jammu-et-Cachemire, India has taken several reprisals against Pakistan.
Among these, the Indian government has blocked the Official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Government of Pakistan on its territory.
The account now displays a message indicating that it was retained in India in response to a legal request.
The decision to block the account following the attack on the Baisaran valley, near Pahalgam, where activists opened fire on tourists, causing significant victims.
At least 17 people were also injured in the shooting that took place Tuesday in the picturesque area of Jammu-et-Cachemire. The dead included 25 Indians and a Nepalese national, police said.
It was the worst attack on civilians since Mumbai shots in 2008, and broke the calm relating to Iiojk. In addition to blocking the social media account, India has suspended the Industry Water Treaty, an agreement to share water length between the two countries.
On Wednesday, Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vikram Misri, said that New Delhi, the Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that New Delhi immediately suspended the 1960s’ water Treaty “until Pakistan crediblely abjure its support for cross -border terrorism”.
The Treaty, mediated by the World Bank, has divided the Indus river and its tributaries between neighbors and regulated water sharing. So far he had even resisted wars between neighbors.
Pakistan depends strongly on the water flowing downstream from this river system of the IIOJK for its hydroelectric needs and irrigation. The suspension of the treaty would allow India to deny Pakistan its share of waters.
India has closed the only border crossing of the open land between the two countries and said that those who crossed India can return to the point before May 1.
Without direct flight operating between the two countries, the movement separates all transport links between them.
Pakistani nationals will not be allowed to go to India under special visas from South Asia, all these existing visas were canceled and the Pakistanis in India under these visas had 48 hours from, said Misri.
All the advisers of the defense of the Pakistani mission in New Delhi were declared no one non -Grata and gave a week to leave. India will withdraw its own defense advisers in Pakistan and will also reduce the size of staff to its mission to Islamabad at 55, said Misri.
