Golden State striker Jimmy Butler will be taken for an MRI on Friday, according to Warriors pr.
Butler was excluded for the rest of match 2 of the first round series of the Warriors conference with the Houston Rockets after falling to the first quarter on a fault by Amen Thompson. He left the match and was taken to the locker room shortly after the collision.
It was diagnosed with a pool bruise.
Butler was injured when Thompson was pushed in his legs while he was jumping to try to take a rebound. The two players crashed on the field during the collision, but Butler stayed longer than Thompson.
We did not know what was the injury of Butler in the moment when he walked, with care, in the locker room.
He finally got up and slowly headed at the other end of the field to shoot free throws. Butler made 1-OF-OF-2 and was quickly left the match and immediately went to the locker room.
The Rockets, who never dragged on Wednesday, won 109-94 in the series.
Match 3 of the Warriors-Rockets series is scheduled for Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time.
