- Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders started in the United States
- We have spotted several eBay lists promising a Switch 2 pre -order, but this is not what they seem
- Instead of a console, you will get a photo of switch 2
The pre -orders of Nintendo Switch 2 occur at the moment, or at least they were until the supplies were drying in almost all the large retailers. To date, some have headed for Ebay, where, of course, there are markings on new generation pre -ordered consoles.
At least that’s what they seem to be, but the truth is much more encouraging.
It was a bit of a bumpy road for the Nintendo Switch 2. Although the first practical reports welcomed the product for its larger size, its largest screen, its faster processor, more storage and joys-corn, some were annoyed, it did not come with an OLED screen.
Then, the imminent American rates suspended the pre -order process, it slipped from April 8 to today, April 24.
At least Nintendo made the effort to manage direct sales by confining these first orders to those who have an online subscription Nintendo Switch for at least the last 12 months and those who could also prove that they have played at least 50 hours on the platform.
These efforts should have reduced the number of early buyers to a more manageable size and also hunt scalpers. Meanwhile, other retailers such as Best Buy, Gamestop, Walmart and Target have opened pre -orders without these stipulations. And given the speed with which the supplies have exhausted, it is not clear that the scalpers have still not done their dirty job.
At least a few enterprising ebay sellers think so. We have found three distinct lists that look like a pre -order scalp offers. Two of them are for around $ 500, which is not bad, only $ 50 compared to the price of the list.
However, these announcements include the expression “Read description!” And this is where you learn that you do not offer the real console but on an impression of someone else’s proof of a pre-order Nintendo Switch 2.
Why would ebay sellers do this? Apparently, it is a noble act. Here is a description (all the caps are theirs):
” * This is a list to prevent robots / resellers without reimbursement ** You buy an image of my pre -order, and an image of a switching console for two. Not again the real system to prevent robots and resellers *
Another wrote: “This is a photo of a Nintendo 2 switch !! Do not buy this! If you pay it, I will send you a literal photo of a switch 2. This list is to fight b * ts and sc * lpers. Be notified! No refund, no cancellation.”
It is interesting to note that the second calls robots, systems that could automate the mass purchase, then an ebay mass list of scalpped items.
Does it work? Not necessarily. We had no trouble finding a list of $ 749.99, which had 28 observers at the time of writing, and which is described as a target pre -order of a Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle.
Anyway, it is clear that it is advantageous to read these eBay descriptions, and if you do not want to pay too much for the Nintendo Switch 2, maybe wait for general sales to open next month.
