Another case of polio has been confirmed in the district of Bannu de Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which makes it the third reported in the province and the eighth national so far this year.
Confirmation comes in the middle of the second national anti-political campaign in the country, which is currently underway from April 21 to April 27.
The campaign aims to administer oral polio vaccines to 45.4 million children under the age of five in Pakistan.
According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), another national campaign will occur from May 26 to June 1 as part of continuous efforts to eradicate the virus.
