Karachi Delivery Rider killed during the flight, 34 dead since January

A 50 -year -old online motorcycle delivery pilot was shot down by thieves in Karachi early Saturday during an attempted theft, while the growing wave of the city of the city continues tirelessly to bring the number of people killed in similar incidents since the start of the year to 34.

The last murder took place near the Bagh Korangi bridge in the colony of Shah Faisal, in the jurisdiction of the Sharafi Goth police station.

The victim was identified as Nadeem Ahmed, father of three children and guardian of the mosque who also worked part -time as a rider to support his family.

Nadeem traveled from North Karachi to Korangi when he was attacked. After being killed, he was precipitated at the Jinnah third cycle medical center in critical condition, but he died of his injuries during treatment. His body was given to relatives after legal formalities.

Addressing the media, the relatives of Nadeem expressed deep anger and frustration, saying that anarchy in Karachi pushed ordinary citizens in fear and insecurity.

His nephew, Arsalan, said that he had tried to call his uncle around 4 am, only for a police officer to answer and inform him of the shooting.

“Someone replied and asked who I was for him. When I said he was my uncle, they told me that he had been shot and was no longer alive,” said Arsalan.

The victim’s brother-in-law, Majid Ali, said that there was a complete break in the law and order in the city. “He was the father of three children, returning home late due to responsibilities. We asked him not to travel so late, but he insisted on family obligations. ”

Majid described Nadeem as a humble and devout man, known for his honesty. He was a Korangi resident and was the muezzin in a local mosque, using his free hours to work as a rider for an online delivery service.

According to police and the media, Shah Faisal Bridge has become a flight home, without visible repression of the authorities. Residents complain that incidents are increasing, especially during late hours.

Official figures show that from January to April 2025, 34 citizens were killed by thieves in Karachi. Ventilation includes five murders in January, 10 in February, nine in March and 10 others in April so far.

Citizens and community leaders have required urgent and effective action by government and law enforcement organizations to stem the rise in street crimes.
