Meeting revises the high -speed train proposal

The Minister of Railways Hanif Abbasi presided on Saturday a detailed meeting on the high-speed train of Lahore-Islamabad and the modernization of six roads in Punjab. The main minister of Punjab, Maryam Aurangzeb, participated in the meeting on behalf of the Punjab government led by PML-N.

A detailed briefing was given on the reduction of the duration of the train journey by Lahore-Islamabad of the current 4 hours at 2 hours and 45 minutes. The Punjab government has reaffirmed its commitment to work with the Pakistani railways and discussed important agreements.

The train starting from Lahore will go through Lalamusa, Dina and Gujar Khan before reaching Rawalpindi. The Kalowal-Pandora section will be realized and the track will be doubled, increasing the capacity of the line to be managed up to 120 trains in each direction. The other initiatives include the complete reconstruction of all bridges, reshaping of station courses and other necessary measures.

After the meeting, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that this project was part of the vision of the punjab of the chief minister Maryam Nawaz. “The train project is a wonderful gift for people,” she said. The provincial minister also welcomed Hanif Abbasi’s efforts.
