The Boston Red Sox Voltger, Jarren Duran, has shown his speed on numerous occasions during his young MLB career, but nothing like Saturday evening against the Cleveland Guardians.
He did something that no Red Sox player did in 16 years. In fact, it was exactly the same date that Jacoby Ellsbury did it to New York Yankees.
Duran had a clean thief against the goalkeeper Doug Nikhazy in Boston’s 7-3 victory in the second double channel match on Saturday evening in Cleveland.

The Speedster was dancing to the third goal, and Nikhazy, a left -hander, could not really see how Duran was at the bottom of the line, because his back is turned towards the bag.
Duran took full advantage of leaving the base, but when he was mainly halfway, he lowered his head and started sprinter at home. Nikhazy quickly raised the leg and pulled ground, but the recipient Bo Naylor could not drop before Duran’s right hand.
“(The coach of the third base Kyle Hudson) heard him tell the referee that he has worked since the section, so I decided that I was going to go on the first land,” said Duran when he asked why he stole from his home. “It was just to continue the offensive and cause a little chaos. I knew I had it.”
The Red Sox star, Jarren Duran, is for trying to commit suicide: “ I didn’t even want to be here ”
The manager of the Red Sox, Alex Cora, added: “Under the new rules, he is in a way the perfect player. We saw a window there, and he took advantage of the situation.”
One of the new rules to which Cora refers here is that the recipient is not authorized to block the plate with his body, which allowed Duran to dive the head first in the house.
It was not the first time that Duran has been trying to do it. Last season only, he tried twice, once against the Rays of Tampa Bay on May 21, and the other against the White Sox of Chicago on June 7.

He scored on the two attempts, but they were also double interceptions, which means that another Red Sox player slipped second, allowing him to go home.
However, it was a straight thief, and Rafael Devers, who was in the hit of the striker at the time, jumped from top to bottom when the marble referee called Duran Safe.
“It was really a cool game and a cool sequence of events there,” said Walker Buehler launcher. “He is one of the most exciting players in baseball. After watching it from afar, it was fun to see him closely this season.”
Even the manager of the Guardians, Stephen Vogt, had to tip his cap in Duran, who, according to him, had made “a headball game in-head” after having noticed that his third basic player, Jose Ramirez, was not close to the third goal to keep Duran near.
Nikhazy could have left the rubber and pulled the ball at home instead of going through its usual delivery from the section – something he regrets with hindsight.

“He had made a big leap and he took off immediately,” said Nikhazy. “In the moment, I chose to make the ground rather than going down. In the end, when I saw it, I should have come down.”
Duran, the first 25 -year -old star last season, benefited from a solid start to his campaign in 2025, while he was leading the league with nine stolen and three triple bases. It cuts .256 / .316 / .388 with a .704 OPS on 28 games so far.
