Rawalpindi:
A case was registered against lawyer Jalila Haider at the Cybercrime Reporting Center of the Federal Agency (FIA) in Islamabad for having pretended to have allegedly supported Mahrang Baloch, chief organizer of the Baloch Yekjehti committee (BYC), on social media.
Depending on the details, the case was filed under articles 9, 10 and 26-A of the 2016 Electronic Crimes Prevention Act (PECA) on behalf of the State. Islamabad Cyber Crime Reporting Center Technical Assistant Aneesur Rehman is the complainant of the case.
The complaint stipulates that Mahrang Baloch is listed as part of the fourth appendix under the anti -terrorist law by the Balutchistan attachment department.
During the investigation, it was found that Jalila Haider would have shared content in support of Mahrang Baloch, an act which, according to the complaint, could spread the troubles and anxiety among the public and within society.
Subsequently, an official case was recorded and an investigation was launched.
Friday, Mahrang and other leaders of the Balutch Yakjehti committee began a hunger strike to protest against the alleged “torture” of prisoners by prison staff and the transfer of activist Beebow Baloch to Pishin from the district prison.
Mahrang and several militants BYC were arrested on March 22, accused of having attacked the Civil Hospital Quetta and of encouraging violence, following a repression of the police against their protest against the alleged disappearances imposed on Quetta.
His detention under article 3 of the maintenance of the order on public order aroused a general condemnation of defenders of Balouth rights and international human rights organizations.
