Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Monday that the scope of digital portfolios would be extended across the country, the provinces being integrated into the digital payment system via a coordinated framework.
The Prime Minister, addressing a ceremony to recognize individuals for their exceptional performances in the success of the Prime Minister’s Ramazan rescue package, said that modern payment methods have allowed the transfer of funds. These payments were made transparently, while maintaining the dignity of deserving individuals.
He pointed out that the funds were efficiently and transparent through digital portfolios, adding that 79% of the funds were digitally disbursed as part of the program.
The PM noted that the old payment system had many faults, which have been rectified by the modern system, Wing Wing PM Office Media said in a press release.
He also declared that positive results were emerged from the measures taken to modernize the system and suggested that the scope of digital portfolios would be extended nationally, the provinces being also included in the digital payment system via an integrated framework.
For the future, the PM stressed that next year, 100% of funds would be used through digital methods.
During the ceremony, the secretary of the Benazir AMIR Ahmed Ali income support program gave a detailed briefing on the Ramazan PM rescue package and digital wallets.
In addition, the Prime Minister said that the Government of Pakistan remained attached to strengthening executives who protect the rights and security of workers.
In a message on the occasion of the day of the world for the safety and health at work observed on April 28, he said: “Today, while we are marking World Day for Safety and Health at Occupational, Pakistan joins the international community to reaffirm our commitment to the prevention of professional accidents and diseases, and to promote the well-being of each worker in all sectors.”
“The theme of this year,” Revolutioning Health and Safety: The Role of Ia and Digitalization At Work “, invites us to reflect on the opportunities and responsibilities brought by technological advancement,” he added.
The Prime Minister said: “As a workplace around the world, including Pakistan, adopting digital systems, it becomes imperative to ensure that these innovations are used to improve the safety, health and dignity of our workers.”
Meanwhile, the first project director of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Saima Naureen and appreciated her high performance in the supervision of the modern training program in the field of agriculture for Pakistani students in China.
