ATC again postpones the trial of the GHQ attack case

The trial in prison in the general attacking case of the head office (GHQ) was postponed once again, marking the seventh delay over a period of two and a half months during which the case had evolved at a rapid pace with audiences twice a week.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah of anti-terrorism court has adjourned the procedure without any action, planning the next hearing of May 3.

On this date, the 14 cases related to the riots of May 9 recorded in various police stations of the Rawalpindi division will be heard.

However, lawyers on both sides also excluded the possibility of a prison trial on the next date.

The court also ordered the complete submission of accusation sheets in ten other cases, while copies of charges in three other cases linked to vandalism incidents in the Waris Khan, Cantt and Hazro police stations are still being distributed among the accused.

On Monday, the magistrate Mujtaba Hassan and the Sub-inspector Riaz, summoned as witnesses in the GHQ attack case, once again appeared despite being called.

The court registered participation in high -level accused, including the former Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Omar Ayub Khan, Alia Hamza and Basharat Raja, among others.
