The $ 19.1 million per year of the six-time pro-bowler is the highest annual average value for a tight end in the history of the NFL. The $ 35 million kittle guaranteed at the signature are the most in the history of the NFL for a tight end.
The average annual value of $ 19.1 million in the kit is a hair above the average annual value of $ 19 million in Arizona Cardinals of Arizona on the contract it signed earlier during the offseason.
Kittle was to conclude the last year of a $ 75 million contract over five years which he signed in 2020. He did not appear for the first days of the team of voluntary off -season of the team pending a new agreement.

The double All-Pro was a large part of the offensive for the 49ers last season, while it captured 78 assists for 1,106 yards and eight affected in 15 games. Throughout his eight -year career, Kittle was an excellent versatile tight end and became a leader in the changing rooms of the 49ers.
“In 2017, our first year with the 49ers, we selected a lean tight end of the Iowa which was really excited to us. We had great hopes, but no one knew that he would become the player he is today,” said 49ers general, John Lynch, in a statement.

“George’s leadership, enthusiasm for the game, for his teammates, and the faithful are really unique and special. It is an exceptional representation for the 49ers in the field and is an exceptional representative for the organization outside the field with his investment in local and military communities. He has a great sense of pride in his role and has put in the best end of the NFL.”
With the extension of Kittle now finished, Lynch has another main box to check this off -season: the extension of the quarter Brock Purdy contract. The potential extension of the Purdy contract could exceed more than $ 50 million per year.
