Christian Yelich, who won a MVP with the team in 2018, was emotional after the defeat, speaking mainly from Uecker.
“For me, he spoke to UECK,” he said at the time. “It’s a bit of what-difficult. All the other things are what it is. It’s a difficult way for your season to end, but talking to” UECKY “in head was difficult.”
The radediffusers do not often have close relationships with the players, but it was an exception. And in a recent interview with PK Press Club Digital, Yelich said that the presence of Uecker is definitely missed.
“I had known Bob very well in the past eight years. He and I were really good friends. He had incredible stories and lived in an incredible life,” said Yelich. “You just have to listen and talk about the game and be able to really be friends with him, you know, I think I must see him in a unique light that many people did not necessarily do it, who did not really know him like that. He was around almost all home matches for us. He came to the clubhouse and did not drag and shoot the lunch or really everywhere.

“He was friends with some of the best players in the game. He lived this incredible life, whether Johnny Carson or the astronauts who called him from the space station on his birthday, being in the films of the” major league “, he just had stories for days, and just to listen to every day was something that was really cool. In the world, everyone was missing Bob, and he experienced an incredible lifestyle. “
“The thing about Bob”, added Yelich, “when you meet him for the first time, you feel like you know him forever. This is how he makes everyone feel. He just had such a outgoing personality and that everyone feels like his friend. I think it was a gift he had with regard to Bob Uecker and the things he had already known. Long, then obviously, our relationship has increased over the years and learned a little better.
