Buffy The Vampire Slayer comes back after more than two decades. On Hulu, the series restarted with Sarah Michelle Gellar Sarah Michelle Gellar by replacing her role.
While Disney TV Studios, Eric Schrier, shared details on the project in an interview with Deadline.
“He got out of Karey Burke and [Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment Scripted President] Simran Sethi had always wanted to try to find a way to restart this show, “he shared.
The head continued: “Our partners of Fox Searchlight Television, with whom I also work, have an agreement with Chloé Zhao. It ends that Chloé Zhao loves Buffy, so we put them together. And from that came the idea.”
According to Eric, Sarah, who played the demon hunter, “was also part of it from the start; she is an executive producer.”
He also said that the restart was, in particular by keeping fans in mind. “So, it’s just an incredible package that came in an organic way because we were delighted to tell this story after so much time in a new way.”
